About
I am currently majoring in Liberal Arts & Sciences. I am unsure of what exactly I want to become by the end of my college career but I do have a broad idea. I want to do something around the profession of psychology or psychiatry. Both fields have many different categories of specialty. I aim to explore as much as I can in nearly all these categories because I have a pure love of for helping others and hearing people's stories.
I grew up being the only child with two loving parents but with that I grew the curiosity of understanding others life stories and struggles. I always thought I would one day end up in the health field, being either a doctor or nurse. My junior year of high school I was accepted into the CNA course at BOCES for Putnam Valley. Shortly into the program I realized this career wasn’t for me because I wasn’t able to get to know my residents or patients, instead I took care for one person then shortly ran to help the next. I also always loved watching shows with my father about horror stories of the ER. I joined the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps my senior year of high school to see all the action hands on and in person. I loved the thrill of all the action and running around and the pleasure of going home and knowing I helped save a life. But that same emptiness I felt was still there, not getting to know anything about these people.
I became close with my drug and alcohol counselor at my high school from doing multiple fund raisers at my school. The fundraisers were usually for drug and alcohol awareness for teens. I loved everything that came with her job and it inspired me to finally find what I want to do with my life after graduating high school.
My first year of college I decided to attend Suny Dutchess Community College to save money and be sure I knew what I wanted to fulfill as a career path. I recently finished my second semester
of college and took two different psychology classes and did very well. Mostly because doing the work is enjoyable and interesting. I learned the therapeutic approaches and the biological aspects of mental disorders. The biological aspects is what I have realized I have the most interest at the moment and would like to study further with.
Throught high school I have received multiple honors and awards. I received either high honor roll or honor roll every semester of school. I received Feburary Student of Distinction for BOCES Award, which is an award for academic excellence. I received the Girl Scout Silver Award my freshman year of high school. I received the Gold All County Band Award for playing trombone.

Ever since I was nine I had a love for musical instruments. I can play up to 15 different instruments but my favorite is the trombone. I have played in countless shows, solo or in a band. I received a scholarship in the 7th grade to attend a sleep away band camp at Ithaca University. I also love to read and write, with that I love English class. I love to write poetry and read it to my friends and in front of small audiences. My active portion of my hobbies include skateboarding, hiking, skiing, ad running. I was on the ski team and track team in high school all four years.
