Thomas Kariuki

I am a soon-to-be graduate of Mansfield High School whereupon I will receive a Distinguished Level Of Achievement. I worked for a couple of years while attending High school from June 2021 to apply to a computer science field/IT job in the future. I was able to complete my prerequisite & core courses with a 3.94 and above GPA at Mansfield High School. While applying to my college selection I have been admitted to the University of Texas at Arlington's College of Liberal Art and Full Sail University with the desire to attend for music production studies. My passion for music production can be seen in my love for the works of music that I listen to and the people that make them. A great summary of such would be a conversation I witnessed with a Billboard producer who was involved in producing many hits that would land on famous projects that many people may be familiar with today. Whenever he feels stuck or demotivated, he tends to regain his motivation by reflecting on his love for his life and what he loves doing the most. He once stated “If you have the opportunity to play this game of life you need to appreciate every moment. A lot of people don't appreciate the moment until it's passed.” As mentioned, his many contributions to rap music and music as a whole category are monumental, and yet even he can rewind time in his life and admire every moment. I want to work in a profession where my contributions can better the human condition and make an impact on people's lives even if it's just by one song. I believe that music artistry (production) is such a profession.
