Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to obtain a position in the Smithsonian Institute at Washington D.C. I first encountered the Smithsonian Institute on my 8th Grade field trip to D.C. when I visited the National Air and Space Museum and the Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems, and Minerals in the Natural History Museum. I was completely astounded with the vast collection of knowledge and culture that the Smithsonian Institute and was filled with an earnest desire to work for the Smithsonian Institute. This desire is integrated with my love for history and the humanities from all cultures; in which working for the Smithsonian Institute will give me access to numerous forms of data on all types of historical research. My ambition is to enrich people's lives with the love of history and culture in order for them to learn from our world's past mistakes and to also experience and enjoy diversity of the innumerable cultures vastly different from our own.

Graduate school interests

I have none currently due to the fact of not receiving my Bachelor's Degree yet. However, my interests would include furthering my education to receive a Master's Degree from Harvard in History, seeking employment at the Smithsonian Institute or other reputable museums, and continuing research into the specific topic I researched during my Bachelor's Degree.

Outside the classroom

I have various hobbies in my life but the ones mentioned here are the most prominent in my life. One hobby, dating back to my childhood, is reading books of various topics and genres, such researching military history or enjoying the story The Lord of the Rings. Another hobby is actively participating in martial arts such as Shotokan Karate or, more currently with much success, Fudo Shin Tai Aikido for physical discipline, relaxation, and to interact with other martial art enthusiasts such as myself. I love swimming at the beach or pools for hours when given the chance; in fact my affinity for swimming has bestowed upon me the nickname "Fish" by my family and friends. I also love cooking food for myself or my family, especially Mexican or American cuisine. My religious hobby is my immerse love for theological studies, in which I research theological doctrines and draw closer to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
