About

I am Tomika L. Tate, an educational leader, community advocate, coach, entrepreneur, and Realtor with more than 15 years of experience in education, finance, sales, and community development. I hold an MBA, a Master of Education, and a Master of Human Resource Management. Throughout my career, I have served as an assistant principal, athletic director, basketball coach, cheerleading director, and head coach.

My journey in education began as a volunteer cheer coach, where I discovered my calling to support young people beyond athletics. That experience shaped my commitment to educating the whole child and creating opportunities that help students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.

As the founder of the Northeast Ohio Urban Education Network and Black Diamonds Cheer and Dance Academy, I am committed to empowering students, strengthening families, and expanding access to quality educational and extracurricular opportunities. I am also developing NEOUEN Phoenix Collegiate and Career Academy to prepare students for college, skilled trades, careers, and responsible adulthood. Whether I am leading a school, coaching young people, serving families, or helping individuals achieve homeownership, my purpose remains the same: to educate, empower, and create pathways toward lasting success.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is educational leadership, with a focus on becoming a principal, school founder, and executive-level education leader. I plan to combine instructional leadership, school counseling principles, and whole-child development to improve student achievement, behavior, school culture, and family engagement. My long-term goal is to lead NEOUEN Phoenix Collegiate and Career Academy and create an educational environment that prepares students for college, skilled trades, careers, and responsible adulthood.

Graduate school interests

My graduate school interests include pursuing doctoral studies in educational leadership, organizational change, and whole-child education. I am especially interested in integrating educational leadership with school counseling practices to improve student behavior, school climate, academic achievement, and social-emotional well-being. I also plan to pursue school counseling licensure and conduct research that can strengthen leadership preparation programs and support the development of NEOUEN Phoenix Collegiate and Career Academy. Additionally, I am interested in becoming a member of a local alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where I can contribute to educational advancement, public service, and community empowerment.
