Having a membership to Honor Society.org means a lot to me since I have overcome many things during my undergrad years at Bowie State University. About four years ago a couple of my cousins and I had gotten into a serious car accident. This accident caused me to lose my four front teeth and crash my gum bone. From the time of the accident to 2014, I've had five surgeries. Before the accident, I attended Virginia Union University but this accident caused me to come to a school that was closer to our home (Bowie State University) because of all the doctor appointments and surgeries.Between the time of the accident, I had to wear dentures (false teeth that you could detach from your mouth).The beginning of last year I got my permanent teeth and it was a long wait. I struggled in school at times since the accident affected me in a stressful way and it had affected my concentration in school. Ended up in academic probation also. It got to a point where I had to attend summer school for two years. Throughout my struggles, I managed to overcome these hard obstacles in my personal life and school.
