About

My name is Veronica Bertozzi. I am studying a master program in Political Science and Political Communication at Tel Aviv University. I graduated from the University Autonoma of Barcelona, Spain, with a major in political science and international relations. In the course of getting a bachelor degree I have spent the last two years studying abroad, first at the Marmara University in Istanbul and then at the University of California in Los Angeles. In the course of my undergraduate studying I have developed a special interest in political science, international relations and human rights with a regional focus on the Middle East. I believe that dialogue is the solution for the conflicts, that is why I would like to work for your organization and to contribute to it with my previous experience.
I have been involved in many manifestations and events human rights oriented. I like questioning and analyzing international affairs and enjoy writing the accounts of political developments that avoid polarizing ideological positions. I am well traveled and enjoy learning about new cultures and world-views. That explains why I took my undergraduate courses in three different continents. I speak several foreign languages; in addition to speaking Spanish, Italian, Catalan, German, English, and French I have also been taking courses in Turkish while at the Marmara University and I am now taking Hebrew lessons at TAU.
Thanks to the University of California Washington D.C. program, I spent my last three months of studying in the U.S. by taking classes at the UCDC center and by interning at the Woodrow Wilson Center where I worked as a research assistant and staff organizer. My stay in Washington gave me the opportunity to take part in and attend numerous events devoted to international affairs and human rights at the Wilson Center as well as at the Brookings Institution and the US Institute for Peace. My numerous interactions with international relations experts and Washington-based diplomats broadened up my horizons of international affairs and sharpened my critical thinking on a variety of topics, especially on internal political developments in individual Middle Eastern countries and the security concern in the region. I have maintained many of the contacts I have established during my stay in research and educational institutions and discuss regularly current events with several journalists and scholars from Italy and the United States.
