About

Hi, I am an extrovert, funny, always laughing and smiling 20 year old with huge dreams. I am currently enrolled at UTSA as well as BSHP to get my bachelors degree in Biology with a focus on neuroscience and a minor in Psychology and then an associates in nursing. I have ambitious goals to continue my education in medical school in hopes to become a surgeon. I am hoping to gain experience in the OR as a surgical nurse while gaining my bachelors degree at UTSA. I am very fascinated in the brain; how it functions both psychologically and mechanically, the different types of diseases and illnesses of the brain, the neuropharmacology side and anything else on how the brain operates. Along with studying for my bachelor's degree, I currently work as a nurses assistant in the Baptist Health System as well as concurrently going to school to get my RN at Baptist School of Health Professions in SA. I will be graduating there in May of 2017 and will then work as a nurse while I continue my Bachelors here at UTSA. Being in two schools with a job while living on my own.... with two puppies and a boyfriend in the army, you could imagine I do not have much of a social life but more of a stressful one however I work very well under pressure and when I am kept busy. I try to live on the healthier side of things, working out and eating healthy food but with the schedule I have created for myself it has become one of my biggest challenges that I strive to improve each day. I love being in this organization, Alpha Epsilon chapter, because it improves my leadership skills, shows me other people's views and it also pushes me out of my comfort zone to get me to be the best I can be. (:

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is first to become a surgical nurse, working in the OR along the sides of Surgeons and anesthesiologists and then continue my education to become a surgeon myself.

Graduate school interests

I am very interested in studying neuro or cardio, but in medical school I am open to studying any and everything about the human body.

Outside the classroom

I love reading books, watching movies, puzzles or doing anything that makes me laugh. I hang out with friends sometimes, going to get ice cream or playing games. If Im not hanging out with friends I am usually at home or at school.
