I have just finished my BA in Psychology at UTSA. My last semester included an internship at the Family Violence Prevention Center, a non-profit organization, where I facilitated structured curriculum parenting classes. It was my favorite semester by far-to finally DO what I have been studying for the last 4 years was great!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I need to be a school counselor. Everything about it draws me in and appeals to me: the kids, the school environment, the early intervention that can be such a positive influence! My last internship working with adults about parenting was also fulfilling. I loved having the experience of working with parents, which will be beneficial to my future of working with students and their parents. I've also had experience in military life and the challenges of deployments on the family and could see myself helping in those situations as well.
- Graduate school interests
I love the curriculum at A&M for their school counseling program. The counseling program at Northwestern also piqued my interest. I was surprised to find specific curriculum targeted at helping military families. There are so many things that I would be happy with, I just can't go wrong!
- Outside the classroom
Volunteering at my childrens' schools, Girl Scout leading and events, scrapbooking all the places I've lived during my family's military adventure, sewing, reading, cooking, and road trips!!
