About

My name is Victoria True, and I am a full time student, I work 20 or more hours a week, and I am a single mother. I am 21 years old and expect to graduate from Indiana University Kokomo with my BA in Health Sciences/Health Promotion in 2016. My true passion in life is to help others in anyway that I am able. I receive so much support and love from my family, friends, and community and the least I can do is work my hardest to achieve my goals in hopes to someday return that favor. I optimally would like to receive my Masters for Occupational Therapy with minors in nutrition and psychology. I would like to concentrate in geriatrics, and also dabble in art therapy if at all possible. I am an artist and would love to incorporate another passion in my life with my calling to help people.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I hope to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy, focusing more in geriatrics. I also am hoping to incorporate art therapy into my practicing of Occupational Therapy.

Graduate school interests

I hope to proceed from Indiana University Kokomo with my BA in Allied Health and Sciences/ Health Promotion to graduate school, hopefully IUPUI or Indianapolis University. While there I will concentrate in geriatrics and art therapy.

Outside the classroom

I am a single mother, because of this I do not have as much time for my own hobbies. In the rare free time I do have, I enjoy painting, drawing, and reading. I love a great murder mystery novel, such as those by James Patterson and David Baldacci. I also played soccer for thirteen years before graduating high school, so I am still a huge fan of the sport even though I no longer play. I also love spending time with my family and traveling as much as I can. I want to expose myself and my son to every aspect of American culture and also dip into other country's cultures. I am a regular attendee at Life Gate Pentecostal Church, so religion is a large portion of my life and my values.
