Ford Motor Company
University of Michigan-Dearborn September 2012-May 2014 Graduate Student Research Assistant
Activities: Working on an alliance project with Ford Motor Company, which ultimately result in the
Successful application of aluminum on the Ford F-150 trucks. The project involves:
• Develop a Concept/ detailed design of a number of testing Specimens and Electro-mechanical/Hydraulic test fixtures, to determine material behavior.
• Develop/Check drawings and prepare associated release documents.
• Perform/Develop necessary test Plan for conducting Mechanical characterization experiments of Aluminum sheet / Extruded Aluminum Tubes under tension, Compression and shear, with the use of digital image correlation equipment- DIC.
• Implement/Perform Finite element analysis to Simulate/investigate/Validate mechanical the behavior of the material.
• Verify Finite element simulation result’s, using digital image correlation equipment- DIC.
• Performing a hybrid (numerical-experimental) calibration process to determine the fracture surface for the material.
• Prepare project status updates Presentation/Repots, at predetermined time intervals.
• Team work includes working with other Quality & Reliability engineers, Component & Design engineers, Manufacturing engineers and Lab technicians.

Project was completed with successful Predicting of Path-Dependent Failure in Aluminum sheets and Extruded Aluminum Tubes.

Responsibilities:
