Goals and interests

Career goal

Upon graduation from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, I intend to solidify my clinical education by pursuing a Clinical Dietitian job position in the hospital setting. I have received numerous recommendations to seek clinical work for the first couple of years when entering into the workplace and therefore intend to follow this given advice. Ultimately, I would like to end up building a sufficient clientele base to transition to full time health and fitness nutrition counseling for the professional and recreational athlete.

Graduate school interests

I have enjoyed every class taken thus far in my education. I aim to have a positive attitude toward each class because I know it is part of my education for a reason. An open mind creates a world of opportunities. I have enjoyed being part of a First-Year Experience advisory committee to help improve planning of events and distribution of information for incoming students. Also, another favorite has been a graduate research assistant position at Stephenson Cancer Center; this was a fantastic and humbling experience that helped broaden my perspective on different journeys of life and more deeply understand the magnitude of all that I have been given in life thus far. It sparked a deep interest in pursuing a clinical career in order to try and give back as much as possible to those who need it most.
