Leadership is when you set a good example for those around you to the point that you make a positive impact on their lives. Leaders are very giving and don't expect anything in return. Also, they put everyone before themselves. I am a leader because I encourage everyone to do what makes them happy as long as it is a sustainable living that is legal. Also, I offer my assistance to anyone in my class that needs help with subjects of math and science (those are my strong suits). Helping people, animals, as well as the environment has always been something that I truly enjoy. For example, my Torch club made dog toys for dogs in shelters who had been abused in their previous homes. A little more about Torch club is that we help give kids a place to go when they need help or just to feel safe. Also, we have this thing called Youth of Year, which if you compete, you can win thousands of dollars in scholarships, along with multiple electronics to help you in college. My main focus as a leader is my community - the black community - when it comes to education because I can't bear the thought of those around me being uneducated, which feeds into the stereotype of black people being uneducated. But, it also frustrates me when I just see us not caring, not caring about education and just sniper focus on sports taking us where we need to go in life and not thinking about the 'if' factor of it all.
