About

I proudly represent the Sunnyside Unified School District in Tucson, AZ. I grew up in the community I now teach in, and everyday strive to be an advocate for my students to follow their dreams in education and other passions. I began my journey after high school at the University of Arizona. There I received my Bachelors in Journalism with a minor in Spanish, so I could explore my passion in writing and telling stories. After working as a reporter, I returned to school to pursue a teaching certification. I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others, and developing the youth in our society who will one day grow up to be our future. I received my certification through Pima Community College through the internship pathway where I immediately began teaching in classroom, while attending school. While there I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA, and welcomed my daughter into the world. After five years in the classroom, I knew that I wanted to continue my education to eventually work in administration. My goal is to help teacher flourish in their career, and be an advocate for teachers. I hope to move into a position where I can help develop curriculum for students and give students access to technology to better prepare them for the classroom of tomorrow.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My end goal would be to eventually be working for a district. I want to make decisions for teachers and students that will benefit them, and make them better prepared for whatever path they choose to embark on. Whether that be as a curriculum developer, a liaison for technology, or a director of a certain department in a school district, my intention is to be a fresh voice to the everchanging field of education, and to ensure the success of all students.

Graduate school interests

I am currently in my Graduate program through Northern Arizona University. My focus is in Educational Leadership where I plan to learn how to be an effective administrator, not only for students but teachers as well.
