Yaw Shu

I’m currently studying the Engineering Science at Erie community college. The reason that I chose engineering is because of my passion. The passion that hidden for my entire childhood. I was born and risen in a small town of Burma where didn’t have internet and sufficient electricity supply. Those were one of the inspirations that courage me wanting to become engineer. After completing my high school, I attended PangLong Technological University as a Electronics and Communications Engineering student. During the second year in associate degree, the civil war became stronger and stronger. I had to flee from my country to Malaysia which is the temporary camp for refugees. I couldn’t continue my education in Malaysia, because I was undocumented refuge. In 2015, I was resettled in the United States and had a chance to continue my education. I’m currently volunteering as a secretary at Myanmar Student Society which bridging the local communities and migrant communities. I want myself to be supportive for the communities as well as the city.
