Social Ambassador Scholarship requirements

Show how your social media experience builds useful skills. Connect the work you create, the audiences you engage, and your role online with your education and career goals.

  • Who can apply?

    • Open to all applicants who meet the published requirements. All social media users are invited to explore this award.
    • Have a public Instagram, TikTok, and/or Snapchat account, as specified in the published eligibility requirements.
    • The award recognizes academic achievement and broader accomplishments alongside your social media experience.
  • Your application checklist

    1. A response of under 500 words. Explain how your social media experience could make you more marketable to an employer and/or help you start your own business.
    2. Your social channels & roles. Share account links and explain your role, including any school, company, or organization accounts you help manage.
    3. GPA & transcript for the current form. An unofficial transcript is accepted to apply; an official transcript is requested before scholarship disbursement.

The current form also specifies consistent weekly posting and tagging Honor Society’s social accounts in posts submitted for consideration. It asks you to complete your profile and upload a headshot. Have your school and contact information ready.

Use a specific example to explain what you created, your role, and what you learned. Discuss skills such as communication, planning, or understanding an audience. Keep your claims accurate, check that shared links work, and use fewer than 500 words.

How to apply

    Sign in before you start

    Open the Social Ambassador application and sign in or register before entering answers. Signing in after completing the form can cause your answers to be lost.

    Prepare your materials

    Draft your social media response, collect your channel links and role descriptions, and gather your GPA and transcript. Complete your profile and headshot as requested by the form. Keep a separate copy of your work.

    Review & submit

    Check your responses, contact details, and attachments. Submit through the application form by the displayed deadline and keep a copy of your materials.

Selection & announcement timeline

  • How applications are evaluated

    The published award criteria use a rubric based on relevance and writing consistency. The current application also identifies creativity, commitment, and a unique viewpoint in reviewing posts. If applicants are tied, the winner is selected at random from the tied applicants. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection.

  • When recipients hear back

    • Within 3 weeks of selection: selected recipients can first expect to hear from Honor Society.
    • Within 6 weeks: recipients are publicly announced on the website, in the monthly newsletter, and through social media.
    • Up to 3 months after submission: your application remains under consideration. You may submit an updated application after 3 or more months.

No Purchase Necessary / Open Access:
Application for Honor Society® scholarships is open to all eligible individuals. No purchase or membership payment is required to apply or win. Applicants do not need to be members of Honor Society® to be considered. Void where prohibited by law. By accepting an award, recipients consent to Honor Society® publicly announcing their names, schools, likenesses, and general award information for transparency and promotional purposes. Personal data collected during the application process will be used solely for administering the scholarship and in accordance with Honor Society®’s Privacy Policy.

Odds of Selection:
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible applications received and the comparative strength of the applications. No minimum or maximum number of awards is guaranteed.

Honor Society® is an independent, privately operated organization and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, or government entity. Institutional acknowledgment or credit of Honor Society® scholarships is at the discretion of each educational institution.
