Finding Balance

As a high school senior preparing for the future, I have always believed that being a well-rounded person means finding a balance between academic goals and personal passions. For me, that balance comes from a deep interest in understanding human behavior, paired with a love for hands-on creative projects outside of the classroom.

My primary academic passion is psychology. I am fascinated by how the human mind works, and I have shaped my future goals around this field. Ultimately, my dream career is to work with children who have disabilities. To achieve this, I am focused on building a strong academic foundation during my undergraduate studies so that I can successfully transition into graduate school. I want to gain the professional tools and research experience necessary to provide the best possible support for these children and their families, ensuring they have the resources to thrive.

While my career goals keep me focused academically, my hobbies keep me grounded. Outside of school, I love engaging in activities that require focus and patience. I spend a lot of my free time working on cars and doing crochet projects. Even though fixing a car engine and crocheting a blanket seem like completely opposite tasks, they both require problem-solving, precision, and dedication—skills that I know will serve me well in my future career.

Being a part of the Honor Society is an opportunity to connect with others who share a drive for excellence. I am excited to take the dedication I apply to my hobbies and my studies and channel it into making a meaningful impact in the field of mental health and disability advocacy.
