Resources that complement your students’ education

Colleges and universities provide the foundation for students’ learning and development. Honor Society offers additional resources that students can explore alongside advising, career services, campus organizations, and the opportunities available through their institution.

  • Scholarship opportunities

Help students explore Honor Society scholarships and outside funding opportunities. Each award has its own eligibility requirements, application process, and deadline. No premium membership is required to apply for Honor Society scholarships.

  • Personal branding

Encourage students to present their experience, interests, projects, and achievements clearly. A member profile can help bring their story together as they prepare for the next step in their education or career.

  • Leadership & community

Leadership develops through initiative, collaboration, and contribution. Honor Society encourages members to strengthen those habits, build professional connections, and continue learning from the wider community.

  • Service & engagement

We encourage members to contribute through volunteering, service, and community involvement. These experiences help students connect their interests with meaningful contributions beyond the classroom.

  • Academic recognition

Honor Society celebrates academic achievement through GPA-based recognition tiers while welcoming a broader membership community. Students and professionals can participate at different stages of their growth.

A national chapter history. A future focused on members.

Honor Society® historically maintained a national base of campus chapters. We made a deliberate decision to discontinue that chapter model and focus on long-term opportunities that can support members throughout their education, careers, and lives.

Today, that focus includes career resources, personal branding, and technology that can help members prepare for fields with strong growth potential. Our goal is to provide support that remains useful as members move between schools, enter the workforce, and pursue new ambitions.

  • Since 2014A web-first initiative

Building a digital membership community for more than 12 years.

  • MillionsMembers have joined

Cumulative membership since the launch of our web-first initiative in 2014.

  • $1M+Donated

More than $1 million donated to nonprofits and other honor societies.

Figures as of September 29, 2026. The membership figure is cumulative; the giving total includes donations to nonprofits and other honor societies.

Our commitment to opportunity extends beyond our own membership. Giving, recognition, and practical resources are all part of how we support a broader culture of achievement.

Honor Society AI: building for what comes next

Our future roadmap focuses on automated tools for career preparation and personal branding. Honor Society AI is intended to help members turn their experience and goals into practical next steps.

  • Career materials: assistance with drafting and refining résumés, cover letters, and professional introductions.
  • Personal branding: support for presenting projects, achievements, and experience through a clearer professional story.
  • Opportunity planning: tools to help organize applications, opportunities, and follow-up tasks.

The goal is to reduce repetitive work while keeping members in control of their materials and decisions. Students should review AI-assisted work for accuracy and follow their institution’s policies.

Planned capabilities: Features, access, and timing will be announced as they are released. Evaluate membership using the benefits currently available.

Sharing a public resource does not require a campus chapter. Honor Society operates independently, and each institution determines its own policies for referrals, student organizations, recognition, and graduation.

University relations: frequently asked questions

Is Honor Society affiliated with my college or university?

Honor Society® is an independent membership organization. Our resources complement students’ education and career development. Our historical chapter network does not imply a current affiliation with or endorsement by an institution. Read our transparency statement.

Does Honor Society still use a campus chapter model?

We chose to discontinue our former national chapter model and focus on long-term opportunities for members, including career resources, personal branding, and future AI tools. Students can explore membership directly through HonorSociety.org.

Who can join, and is membership free?

Honor Society® welcomes students and professionals pursuing academic, professional, and personal growth. Free membership is available, with premium membership for those who choose additional benefits. Review eligibility and academic recognition tiers.

Do students need premium membership to apply for scholarships?

No. Premium membership is not required to apply for Honor Society scholarships. Each award has its own eligibility requirements, rules, and selection process. Membership does not guarantee a scholarship award.

Does an invitation mean our university nominated a student?

An Honor Society® invitation introduces our independent membership community and its resources. It does not by itself confirm a university nomination, verified class rank, or scholarship award. For help with a particular message, contact Honor Society directly.

How does Honor Society recognition complement school honors?

Honor Society recognizes members within its own community. Colleges and universities determine their own academic honors, awards, and graduation policies. Students should check with their institution about campus recognition or wearing regalia at a ceremony.
