About

Hello, my name is Leana Mason. I started my higher education in August 2011 but, had to leave school because I was unable to afford tuition. I wanted to enroll in the NROTC program but did not fulfill the necessary physical requirements at the time. Therefore, I enlisted in the Marine Corps the following spring and have been in since then. Currently, I work as the Lead Analyst for my shift and am stationed in southern California. I had to take a break from school for a year and half for training purposes, but quickly resumed as soon as I was able to. Though I have to complete my degree online, I find it just as rigorous as in class, minus the face to face interactions. I started my education at Pennsylvania State University because it was my dream school and intend to complete my education there. I have desired to work in the field of psychology from a young age and that is currently what I am pursuing. To me psychology is an opportunity to help people find answers for things that may seem so simple yet, too complex for a direct answer. I think psychology is necessary for our society today with the many influences we have that can contribute to disorders, unhappiness, etc.
