About
I am currently working on my Master of Arts in Teaching Middle School degree with Mississippi State University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Communications/Public Relations and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the Spring of 2015. Being a working mother of three little boys, I am forever grateful to Mississippi State University for offering a distance education degree. I would not be able to obtain my Master's degree in such manner which complements my current lifestyle so wonderfully.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My goal is to be an English Language Arts teacher within a Mississippi public school beginning with the 2016-17 school year. My preference is to stay within the Lewisburg school system. I have a job at Lewisburg High School as the ALC teacher, and my children attend school at Lewisburg schools as well. However, if I had to choose any other school system of which to be a part, I would choose a school within the Tate County school system. Tate County is the neighboring county to my hometown of Desoto County, MS, and I have read various ways of paying off my student loans quickly; one of which includes working within a low income school district such as Tate County. I believe strongly in God, and I pray that He will lead me to the perfect job, within the perfect school, at the perfect time. My intended job path can not go wrong if I keep that prayer flowing through my mind.
- Graduate school interests
As of this moment, I am a relatively new grad student. This is only my second semester. My interests include staying ahead of the game on my class assignments while maintaining an honors level grade point average, while never neglecting my current job, husband, three boys, and church family. I hope to learn more about what I can do to become an active member of the Mississippi State University family; however, the fact that I am a distance learner sometimes hinders my desire to be a presence within the university.
- Outside the classroom
My current hobbies include reading, exercising, dancing, and learning natural horsemanship techniques. I love animals; therefore, I am constantly on the look out for any animal that might need a home. My husband has had to rein me in from bringing home so many animals at one time, so I try to remind myself that I can not save them all. As of this moment my animals include five dogs, six cats, one rabbit, one bird, and three horses.
I also enjoy looking up inspirational quotes from countless celebrities and/or trailblazing activists. My current favorite quote is from Babe Ruth. "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from coming up to bat."
