About

To Whom It May Concern;

My name is Ashley Gilmore and I am currently going to The University of Alabama to get my M.A. in Counseling Rehabilitation. I received my undergrad degree from Troy University in 2014. I currently serve in the United States Air Force and dedicate my time to God, work, and school. I am very appreciative of all the opportunities that I am awarded and do not take them lightly. Everyday I try to set the bar high so my daughters, sisters, friends, and strangers know they can do anything when making the right decisions. If there is anything you would like to know that was not answered, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks,

Ashley Gilmore

Goals and interests

Career goal

My ultimate goal is to work at the Veterans Affairs (VA) office to help the troubled soldiers that suffer with PTSD or in my community at local outreach groups; like Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meetings.

Graduate school interests

Currently obtaining my grad degree now, but the one thing I would be interested in is possibly joining an organization to spread the programs offered at my school. It is hard joining organizations while going to school online, but I truly love my university. I have never felt more empowered to finish school than I have attending this university. I receive phone calls the beginning of every semester to discuss my plans and ways to get there, more people deserve this and should be made aware.

Outside the classroom

I love taking advantage of every opportunity given to me so living overseas in Japan thanks to the military, allows my husband and I to avidly snorkel. We also take our daughters traveling over Asia so they can learn to appreciate the opportunities awarded to them. There are a lot of people that will never get to experience the things we do and I try to ensure that they are given the best. We also take pride in being at our church because we believe in strengthening our bodies of Christ right now. It is our belief that everything we will do for the Lord will be done in this body, so we must get fit and armed with the word. My church family does many marathon runs that we participate in and I even take my oldest daughter along with me so she can see that fitness is very important in our lives.
