About

As a high school senior, I am looking forward to starting my college education towards becoming a nurse. I have a deep passion for helping others, especially those who cannot repay me, which is one of the reasons I look forward to a nursing profession. Being the youngest of five siblings, I recognize the importance of standing united as people, regardless of circumstance. I intend on continuing my education at a university where I can quench my thirst for nursing, acting, sports, and an always-active student body. I enjoy walking my dog, Simba, and acting as a food connoisseur.

Goals and interests

Career goal

From witnessing the tender care of nurses after my father was suddenly hospitalized my sophomore year, my future became clear; I too want to restore the health of patients along with their human dignity when they are struggling with any illness as a nurse. I seek to comfort my future patients and their loved ones through my humor and optimistic attitude. After becoming a registered nurse with a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing, I plan to continue my education in graduate school. Then, I intend to begin my occupational career as a nurse at the approximate age of 26. I would be equally content whether placed in a home or a hospital setting. My specialty is undetermined, but I have a large interest in becoming a nursing midwife or a nurse practitioner.

Graduate school interests

Along with my intentions of becoming a Registered Nurse with a BSN, I hope to continue my education with the Peace Corps Master’s International program. Charged with a fire for aiding others, education, and foreign cultures, this program beautifully combines my passions. Not only could I aid others as I intend to do in my future profession as a nurse, I could also do this in a more global way extending the goal of providing hope and health for which the medical community strives to give to those across the world. The only partner school that I could complete a master’s degree in nursing while volunteering with the Peace Corps is the University of Michigan School of Nursing. After emerging from this experience with a master’s degree in my dream profession along with the passion of a returning service member, I then aspire to begin my occupational career as a nurse at the approximate age of 26.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include singing with the Madrigal Singers Chorus, an auditioned singing group, at my school, Benet Academy. I have performed in every play production, three musicals, the student-directed One Act plays, and involve myself with many of the Variety Shows. I co-lead the Comedy/Improv Club, which I also co-founded, after school because I love laughing and giving others a good laugh as well. I am a member of the Medical Club. I enjoy playing with my dog and siblings although these activities are virtually the same. Being involved in the arts is something I am very passionate about, but I also love playing soccer and YMCA basketball.
