About
My name is Amina Aisha Bradley. I am a freshman Biology student at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I have always loved science, specifically life science. From my first real biology class in high school I was hooked on the study of life. I wanted to understand why things were the way they were. I plan on studying biology and medicine and using my knowledge to help advance the world.

Obstetrics and Gynecology: The lack of diversity among physicians today astonishes me. African-American females are among one of the smallest groups of physicians in the medical field today. Growing up, I saw many nurses and nursing assistants who looked like me but never many physicians. I imagined that it would be easier for physicians to diagnose patients that came from the same cultural background as them. I believed that the better they understood the patient’s lifestyle the more likely they were to come up with a diagnosis and treatment that worked for the patient. In the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology specifically, I wanted to create an environment where the patients would feel completely comfortable while they are being examined. These thoughts have led me to the desire to open my own Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic that caters to women in minority communities.
