About
I am a student who is passionate about making in the difference in the lives of children with special needs, specifically as speech language pathologist. Out of college, I got connected with a job as a special needs teacher and it changed my career goals. I worked with a twelve year old nonverbal girl with autism. My heart broke for her and what she went through on a daily basis by not having the ability to adequately communicate her thoughts, needs and feelings. Because of that she struggled with severe aggression towards others as well as self-harm. From there I decided I wanted to pursue a career helping other children like her, children who were severely disadvantaged due to their speech delays. People describe me as hardworking, passionate, caring, and devoted, and I believe that all of those strengths I possess will help me with the professional goals I have. I know that I do put my whole heart and mind into the roles I have with special needs children, to give them the best possible care and support.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I want to open a speech pathology private practice for children with special needs. My goal is to have a private practice that works with and supports children with more severe special needs, as there is currently very limited options for that in the area in which I live.
- Graduate school interests
I intend to apply to graduate schools to start a SLP program in January 2022. I am planning on applying to University of Wisconsin, California State Northridge, Baylor University, and Emerson University.
- Outside the classroom
I love surfing, hiking, running, and any activity where I can be out in nature! I also enjoy reading a good book, particularly a good biography or a classic novel.
