About

I'm a 35 year old single mother to three beautiful daughters and one son, ages 14, 12, and 10. Yep, I have twins! My girls are my world, and I love spending times with them. My son is in Heaven, but still very much included in some of our family crafts and holidays. I am currently attending EKU for a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Police Studies. I graduate May 2021. I decided this career field after my brother, Chris, was murdered on December 17, 2014 in Notus, ID. I had originally attended Motlow for a degree in nursing, but wasn't able to get the classes I needed, due to the limited number of classes available and my schedule. I changed my major to Criminal Justice and everything seemed to line up from there. Before EKU, I attended Volstate Community College in 2015 to 2017, where I graduated with an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice. I believe this is the path I am to take. I currently work as a 911 dispatcher and I love my job!

Goals and interests

Career goal

Potentially a police officer to eventually be a detective one day, Crime Scene Technician, or Victim Advocate.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in attending Graduate school if it isn't a financial strain on me and my family. I would like to get my Masters degree in Criminal Justice.

Outside the classroom

My children and I have a small hobby farm of chickens, ducks, geese, and peafowl. We enjoy swimming and kayaking. We love to make different crafts together as well. I make paracord bracelets and keychains for anyone that is in emergency services or people who just like paracords. I am currently learning how to sew and use a sewing machine. I enjoy making all natural body butters, facial scrubs, and bath fizzes. I make gift baskets for friends and family during holidays and birthdays. I enjoy gardening, and especially love working with my rose bushes.
