About
I am a doctoral student at Purdue University conducting research in Computing and Engineering Education. I earned a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Energy and Power Engineering both in Nigeria. Over the years I have had the privilege of teaching courses such as Thermodynamics, Measurement and Instrumentation, Engineering Metallurgy, System Design, and Quantitative research methods at the University of Nigeria and the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Motivated to give back to society, I joined various community service-led teaching schemes, where I served as a resource person in the training and re-training of middle and high school teachers in Nigeria and in the United States, I am an Ambassador for the Army education outreach program known as Ecybermissions where I actively engage with young minds, fostering their interest in STEM disciplines and promote the program to potential volunteers and to network of STEM colleagues. Currently, I am involved with developing and redesigning a new integrative computational biology curriculum using computational apprenticeship and design-based research strategies. I also investigate team-based computational projects using qualitative, quantitative, and artificial intelligence-based tools. My ongoing Ph.D. research investigates the characterization of teamwork interactions and interdisciplinary learning in computational modelling and simulation projects. I have published five articles in local journals and two submitted co-authored papers in Tier 1 peer-reviewed Journals like the Journal of the Learning Sciences and Frontiers in Education Journal.
