About

I am a dedicated professional and community advocate with a strong passion for cultural preservation and education. As the NAGPRA Coordinator for the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, I lead efforts to repatriate ancestral remains and sacred objects, fostering healing and respect within our community. My work involves collaboration with institutions like the Smithsonian and the University of Indiana to honor cultural heritage.

In addition, I lead a Cultural Dance group and drum with our Drum group to inspire and engage future generations in embracing their cultural identity. This group has been invited to perform at significant events, such as the NYO Winter Games, further promoting cultural pride and unity.

As a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology student with a Minor in Alaska Native Business Management, I integrate academic knowledge with practical experience to build sustainable and culturally sensitive programs. My lifelong commitment to community service has shaped me into a compassionate and resilient leader dedicated to making a positive impact.

Goals and interests

Career goal: Cultural Preservation Specialist and Tribal Advocate
I aim to continue working in roles that support cultural preservation, repatriation of ancestral remains and funerary objects, and the promotion of Alaska Native heritage and values. As the current NAGPRA Coordinator, my long-term goal is expanding my role within tribal organizations or consulting on policies and programs that protect and celebrate indigenous cultures.
Graduate school interests: I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Anthropology or a related field, with a focus on cultural preservation, repatriation, and Indigenous rights. I am also considering programs that emphasize on museum studies to further my expertise in protecting and honoring ancestral heritage.
