About
I am currently a junior at Tarleton State University in Texas, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Sustainability and Ecosystem Sciences with a concentration in Zoo Animal and Confined Wildlife Biology and Management. I am also earning a minor in Animal Science. My academic focus centers on the care, behavior, and conservation of captive and wild animal species, and I am passionate about promoting sustainable wildlife management practices.
I am particularly interested in careers involving zoo animal care, wildlife rehabilitation, conservation education, and ecosystem research. Through my studies, I aim to contribute to the ethical treatment and long-term sustainability of animal populations, both in human care and in natural environments. I look forward to gaining hands-on experience through internships, research opportunities, and volunteer work with wildlife organizations and conservation institutions, as I am fortunate enough to participate in a hands on Zoo internship this summer.
Coming from a family with three children currently pursuing higher education, I understand the financial challenges that come with funding a college degree. While balancing academics, I also work part-time to help support myself through school. Receiving scholarship support would greatly reduce the financial burden on my family and help minimize student debt after graduation. I am committed to making the most of my education and am truly grateful for any assistance that helps me achieve my goals.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
Careers such as Zookeeper, Aquarist, Wildlife Educator, Animal Trainer, Wildlife Biologist, or Environmental Consultant strongly align with my academic background and long-standing interest in animal science and conservation. These roles would allow me to apply my knowledge of animal behavior, welfare, and ecosystem management in practical and impactful ways. I’m particularly drawn to positions that involve direct care, public education, or fieldwork, as they combine science-based practices with meaningful contributions to wildlife health and sustainability. With my strong understanding of animal needs and my dedication to responsible management, I believe I would thrive in these roles and contribute positively to any team or organization.
- Outside the classroom
In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, which allows me to connect with animals and appreciate the outdoors. I am passionate about caring for my various pets, including tortoises and frogs, as I find great joy in nurturing and learning about different species. I also have a deep interest in plant care, cultivating and maintaining a variety of plants. Traveling is another key passion of mine, as I love exploring new places, learning about diverse cultures, and gaining a broader perspective of the world.
