Metallurgical Engineering Intern at RZM Murowa Diamonds Mine • Developed an Excel-based metallurgical accounting system for shift-to-shift accurate and efficient data tracking and analysis, resulting in the reduction of processing time by 15% and enhancing efficiency in handover takeover. • Utilised Opsdata software to collect and analyse operational data, identifying trends and anomalies. Produced comprehensive reports highlighting key findings, recommendations, and actionable insights for senior engineers. • Performed routine metallurgical tests, including sample preparation, particle size distribution, tracer, and settling tests, therefore analysing results to identify potential inefficiencies, and implementing measures to optimise processes. • Executed daily tracer tests on TOMRACOMTERTIARY XRT and DEBT Tech XRF machineswith a ConsulMet metallurgical specialist to assess recovery performance, providing comprehensive reports to senior engineers on machine efficiency. • Conducted visual inspection on crucial equipment parts, for example, crusher liners, screen panels, and cyclone spigots, to identify potential failure points, thus informing maintenance scheduling, which reduced production downtime by 2%. • Assisted in reengineering the tailings discharge line at the 170 TPH old plant, utilising JK SimMet for simulation, and incorporating fluid mechanics insights to mitigate choke formation and decrease downtime by 5%. • Assisted in the planning and execution of preventative maintenance programs around the process sections according to SOPs in the crushing and screening, dense medium separation, recovery, and water reticulation. • Demonstrated exemplary commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality protocols, adhering to ISO 14001: 2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards, achieving 0% injuries during the internship.
