Goals and interests

Career goal

I am really hoping to pursue a major in psychology with a minor in ministry, with the ultimate goal of earning a PhD in clinical psychology. Along the way, I plan on gaining valuable work experience through research and hands-on work in clinical settings. My focus is on understanding and supporting mental health, further understanding the how and why people are doing what they do. I want to be able to do diagnosis, and treatment, but I also have a particular passion for helping children navigate challenges, and grow in safe, nurturing environments.

Graduate school interests

I plan to continue my graduate studies to deepen my expertise in clinical interventions and research. My long-term vision is to establish a space where children feel secure, supported, and empowered, somewhere they can thrive outside of home while receiving guidance and care tailored to their needs. In all I'm choosing to minor in ministry because ministry coursework often covers pastoral care, theology, and ethics, which are tools to address spiritual concerns alongside mental health. In my research; many clients bring up questions regarding purpose, suffering, forgiveness, or hope and with those tools, I’d be equipped to navigate those conversations thoughtfully.
