Especially because of the fact I have grown up in the south suburbs of Chicago my whole life where people are shot and killed every day. This problem really frustrates me that these individuals believe every obstacle they run into can be solved with a gun and they can move on with their lives. There needs to be a global push in changing this narrative that using a gun can solve all your problems. Instead, we need to have meaningful conversations to settle our differences and respect each other's points of view. We can't afford to have these shootings all over the United States keep occurring, especially in our schools where children are supposed to learn in a safe environment. I have grown to realize that the environment that surrounds a person when growing up has a tremendous impact on their personality. These individuals in the south side of Chicago are raised in this gangster lifestyle so they do not know any better than to shoot innocent people. The environment around these individuals needs to change to give these individuals other paths to go down that will benefit the community around them. Creating an engaging and healthy-minded community for people to grow up and live in will in return change moral standards for the better. Another point to bring up is with an increasing global population and a rising demand for resources, it is more essential than ever that we have a motivated, passionate, and inspired workforce that is willing to tackle these problems head-on.
