Being President

President.

Have you ever wondered what it took to start the organizations at your college? Who started it? Why was it started? What was the need for the particular organization? How was it started? What were the processes that took place to make the organization come into existence?

I recently started an organization on my campus for the Honor Society and it took a lot of work.

I have been part of a lot of organizations like Ambassadors, National Society for Leadership and Success, Career Ambassadors, Student Government, International relations Club and many more. I have always been a member and I never founded an organization. I wanted to take leadership positions because I want to be leader I have always wanted to take a position on the executive board but it was hard. It is hard to be on the executive board of any organization because they choose by different factor to include classification and involvement. The people whom we see as presidents are very hardworking people who work hard to handle the pressure of being able to plan events, recruit members, host them, and get the events known by the members of the Campus and other things that are the responsibilities of the head of the organization.

Honor Society is an organization that celebrates students who have demonstrated high potential and skills. It is an organization dedicated to recognition of student success, and to empower students to achieve through scholarship, recognition, exclusive privileges, job opportunities and more. I always had the idea of starting my own organization because I wanted to be able to be a leader and plan events for the school. I have always dreamt of when I could do something to make a difference on my campus and I had a plan to start an organization. The issue was my campus already had 250 organization and thinking of what my school needed was hard because with 250 organizations, it is obvious that my campus did not need any more and even if they did, I had no idea what they needed. I sat down for weeks and I came to the conclusion that I would start an organization but had no name or idea what it would be. While I was still thinking I got an email from Honor Society and it clicked to me.This is my opportunity to start something on my campus. I then started my research and contacted Honor Society to start the organization.   

I spoke to my Campus and they gave the information I needed. It was a lot of work and I was scared because it was stressful and I was worried that I could not handle the responsibilities. I was about to give up. I then told myself that I could try and do it. I did and after so much effort and hard work I got Honor Society created. I finally got my dream of being able to create my own organization.

So my advice for those who are scared of casing their dream because they are sacred.

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game “Do not let the fear of anything stop you from your dreams. Life is meant to be lived and the best to way to live is to dare to dream big and do your best. Go out and be the original you, do not copy anyone.
