The first thing I did as an HonorSociety.org member

Sep 25,2016

When I first was notified that I was accepted to be in the honor society I was ecstatic.  I began by downloading my authentic award certificate.  As I continued along on the website, I realized that I wasn’t just apart of a society that’s name is highly renowned in the academic community – but I also had access to incredible resources. I continued to learn that there are benefits, and more awards that can be won. There are vacations, alumni, innovators, and successors in the community waiting to make acquaintance with.

I fell in love with the blog.  I like to share all my monthly writing challenge papers.  I feel that’s the best way for me to express my knowledge and opinion to the other members.  I continue to read others and comment; I feel it’s a great way to share insight into different topics with other honor society members.  This ensures I am proud of my submissions and notifies others who may be unaware of the monthly writing challenges.

I enjoy doing the monthly writing challenges to win scholarship money each month and am proud to have won the August challenge. I find these challenges to be a win-win for me.  I am a public relations major and most of my work involves writing. The extra practice each month with different writing styles has unquestionably brought improvement, while also being able to share my knowledge on each topic, and communicate with other members.  I figure that I win in every situation and if I were to win any scholarships it would be a bonus.  I can attest that through my hard work you can win these scholarships, not to mention- it’s a great honor to be recognized by the Honor Society.

When you first become a new member it’s important to take a look at all the benefits you have available at your fingertips. It’s wise to get familiar with some of the offers you can start using now.  I think it’s always a great idea to read over the scholarship options, you never know how it can benefit your wallet.  I think it’s great for a student to partake in scholarship opportunities to get good writing practice as well as spread your knowledge and voice.  Once you’re done looking over the scholarships take a look at the blog, this is where you can build your name and make your profile.

Being an honor society member is an accomplishment.  It’s important to cherish the financial award but to also be aware of your writing improvements.  Whenever starting something new its good to explore and research.  It’s smart to get familiar with your profile, your benefits, what is offered to you now that you are apart of the community.  Check out other member’s pages, blogs, leave a comment, and start a meaningful conversation.  It’s empowering to share your voice and express your opinion to other members.
