Reasonable...

I was telling someone earlier about how being chosen for this Honor Society help me not to settle my mind on quitting school. It has been a rough semester and Literary Theory is very unforgiving. Very Rude. And painful. My friend asks me why I would do something like that and mentions that I am the "reasonable" one. I laughed to myself. I am the reasonable one. The conflict and problem solver. I am the strong one. The girl that pulls people back from the edge of life and here I was standing on the edge with so many people who I have saved before. I was ready to quit. I felt bad for a moment in the conversation with my friend. But then... I told her. Yes, I was ready to quit. I get tired. I get frustrated and hurt and weak like everyone else. I am no superhero, but that's how people see me. I have had to be strong so long people look at me funny when I have low moments. I am human... but people know I've been through a lot and they trust me for advice and sound mind. I get tired of being everyone's superhero, but how can I help who I am? Sometimes I wish I had a "me" in my life. I'm afraid life is not set up that way though... So every so often, I am reminded of why I cannot and should not quit. This society was one of my reasons this time around.
