The Silence After War

The final wave rushed in nothing slowing or disrupting
Time ticks as the battle rages
Pain in all's eyes, rage uncontained
Dreams and hopes glistening in the dust and rubble
Final stand for nothing or for all

Half of their lives and time are in balance
Everywhere, destruction and pure disruptions
Pain for all peace for none
Falling of many, standing of few
Grief released quickly yet gained just as fast

Slowly trickling the numbers fell
Slowly, the pain vanished as they did
Few stood-much lost, and little gained
As the last one felt weak and tired resting while grinning
In the end, there was no disruptions or suffering but peace and quiet
