Hello. I am Adewumi Adeloye, Doctoral Research Student at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Prairie View A & M University with 14 years’ practical experience and a sustained passion for an optimally functioning electric power system. At the moment, I am researching on cyber security deployment protocols for smart grid resilience and protection. Also, the possibilities of applying AI/ML to further enhance the operation capabilities of SCADA is being explored. My current Graduate Research
duties includes synthesizing effective CCS and carbon sequestration methodologies.
With 13 conference and journal articles to my credit, I will describe myself as an individual who enjoys working purposefully, passionately and persistently in a motivating environment with opportunities for career and self-development, without compromising professional integrity.
In spite of my technical career progression, I have also been able to extra-curricular concurrently. Since I was six years of age, I identified that I could arrange music and play musical instruments – A gift I eventually traced to my paternal grandfather. Over the last three decades, my musical and artistic abilities have been deployed in multiple dimensions as a tool for encouragement, mood upliftment and impartation. This has been my way of giving back to the society
using my gifts as a veritable conduit.
3 years ago, my friends and I designed and implemented a music and art-based model for imparting life navigational skills to adolescents between the age range of 11 and 19 years. Initial pilot phase of the project directly impacted 5,000 adolescents across 774 local government areas in West Africa and 5
continents.
Our novel execution model leveraged IoT to permit virtual participation from all parts of the world and at zero cost to the participants. Specific deliverables impacted includes but not limited to assertiveness & negotiation skills for rape prevention, bullying, molestation and navigating life - inclusive of role play. Presently, arrangements are being concluded on securing patents for 86 unique music application modules.
Upon my resumption at Prairie View A & M University, I have been looking out for avenues to put smiles on peoples’ faces either through cash or service equivalent. This is the reason why I immediately accepted the invitation to be a Honor Society® member – to be a part of support system as I am also being supported. Rest, assured that whatever amount is made available to me in terms of scholarship
will certainly be put to use.
