Honor Society® Expert FAQ
Does Microsoft offer student discounts?
Yes. Microsoft offers education access and student offers, but eligibility and included applications differ by program. As checked in October 2026, eligible institutions can provide Office 365 A1 access, while separate personal student offers have their own terms.
Separate school-provided access from personal offers
Ask your college’s IT office what your account includes before purchasing. Web applications, installed desktop applications, cloud storage, and AI features can differ across licenses. Do not assume a school email automatically provides every Microsoft 365 feature. A personal offer should be reviewed separately for eligibility, duration, billing, and renewal.
Check what happens to school-managed files and access after graduation or withdrawal. Export permitted personal work before access ends, following institutional rules. Honor Society’s portfolio-project guide can help you turn spreadsheet, presentation, and writing practice into examples you can explain to employers. Choose the access route that meets your coursework and personal needs without paying twice for the same functionality.
Your next steps
- Ask campus IT which applications and features are included.
- Compare any personal offer with existing school access.
- Plan to retain permitted personal files before institutional access ends.
