Honor Society® Expert FAQ
How do you find institutional scholarships at a college?
Find institutional scholarships through the college’s financial-aid, admissions, honors, and academic-department pages. Some require a separate application; others consider eligible students automatically.
What to know before you act
Check the scholarship priority date as well as the admission deadline. A student can meet the application deadline and still miss early scholarship consideration. Ask whether the award requires full-time enrollment, a particular major, residency, an interview, or a separate honors application.
Compare renewal rules across all expected years of study. An appealing first-year award may not continue automatically. Outside awards, including suitable listings in Honor Society’s directory, can complement the campus search, subject to the college’s aid coordination policy.
Your next steps
- Ask admissions which awards require an additional form.
- Check your department and honors program separately.
- Record renewal GPA, credit requirements, and maximum award duration.
For the next step, use the compare financial aid offers. Use a worked example and worksheet to compare net price, loans, and renewal conditions.
