Honor Society® Expert FAQ
Is ChatGPT free for students?
ChatGPT has a Free plan that eligible students can use; being a student does not automatically provide every paid feature or unlimited usage. Plan capabilities and limits should be checked in the current official account information.
Distinguish free access from paid plans and promotions
A university-provided account or a student promotion is a separate route with its own eligibility and terms. Confirm which account you are using, what is included, and whether access ends when enrollment or a promotional period changes. Do not assume a school email address automatically activates a paid plan.
For studying, begin with a permitted task you can evaluate, such as generating questions from non-sensitive notes you are allowed to share. Honor Society’s ChatGPT getting-started guide explains practical workflows. Upgrade only when a specific limitation matters to your work and the ongoing cost fits your budget.
Your next steps
- Check the plan and limits shown for your actual account.
- Verify any school access or promotion separately.
- Test a useful study task before deciding whether paid access is necessary.
