Honor Society® Expert FAQ
Can parents join Honor Society®?
Being a parent does not by itself determine Honor Society® eligibility. Its published requirements welcome students, graduates, and professionals without requiring current enrollment or a minimum GPA. A parent interested in participating personally should review those requirements and the current account terms.
Distinguish your account from your student’s participation
A parent’s account should represent the parent’s own identity, experience, and goals. It does not transfer the student’s academic recognition or establish eligibility for student-specific awards. Scholarship applicants must satisfy the rules for the particular award.
If you are evaluating membership for your student rather than yourself, begin with the parent guide. It explains invitations, costs, and participation considerations. Discuss the student’s goals and ask which available service they would actually use before considering an optional payment.
Put the answer into practice
- Decide whether you want your own account or information for your student.
- Review the relevant eligibility and account terms.
- Do not claim another person’s academic record or recognition.
- Ask Member Services about questions involving age, authorization, or account access.
Joining starts with a free account; Professional Track™ is an optional paid upgrade. Keep account ownership and any subscription clear. If you need help with someone else’s account, use official Member Services channels and follow their authorization process rather than sharing passwords.
