Honor Society® Expert FAQ
How do you get involved in campus clubs?
Get involved in campus clubs by choosing an interest, attending an introductory meeting, and asking how new participants can contribute. Start with a commitment you can sustain alongside classes, work, and other responsibilities.
Start with an interest and a manageable commitment
Use the college’s current organization directory or activities fair to find groups. Check meeting times, membership requirements, dues if any, and whether participation is open throughout the term. Commuter and online students can ask about virtual meetings or projects that do not require frequent evening travel. You can explore several groups before choosing where to contribute regularly.
Take on a defined task, follow through, and learn how the organization makes decisions. You do not need an officer title to develop leadership: coordinating volunteers or improving instructions can be meaningful work. Honor Society’s activities and leadership guide can help you record your contribution accurately. Describe what you did and learned rather than collecting memberships without participating.
Your next steps
- Attend a meeting and ask about a useful first contribution.
- Choose a commitment that fits your actual schedule.
- Keep a record of responsibilities, outcomes, and lessons.
