Student Groups and Greek Organizations
Honor societies are a traditional part of the academic world that is held in high esteem, and attracts high achievers who are the early adopters of tomorrow. Recently, groups such as HonorSociety.org have emerged, utilizing the internet in an effort to "globalize" these standards and create a larger community that distance has no effect on. By widening this scope and creating an even larger, more diverse community, this group has paved the way for the future.
What could be a better way to award someone for their academic achievements than a scholarship? HonorSociety.org offers multi-level scholarships for different ranges of academic achievement. They also offer a number of other scholarships, including: Community Service, Member Spotlight, Grad Student Achievers, Study Abroad, Undergraduate Achievers, the Abe Fellowship, etc.
Although HonorSociety.org is paving the way for future Honor Societies by utilizing the internet, having physical roots with on-campus chapters helps to foster smaller, local communities that set the precedent for the HonorSociety.org. The National Office and active Chapters demonstrate their commitment to service, scholarship and leadership by holding events that help them connect better with peers.
HonorSociety.org has a lot in common with the Greek System, in the sense that we are on the lookout for smart, driven new members who want to put their time towards something that will make them more satisfied with their college experience, more marketable when searching for a job or applying to graduate school, and allow them to excel in their academic programs. As Greek life often has the same goals in mind, it makes sense for Fraternity and Sorority members to become members of our organization, as well. Having both on a resume looks great, and we provide yet another great opportunity to hone leadership and accountability skills. HonorSociety.org also offers exclusive benefits, one popular one being discounts off of Greek Gear.
