Hannah Davis: My Community Service Scholarship!

Dec 10,2015

My volunteer experiences have enriched my understanding of the field of nursing by exposing me to the real-life challenges and rewards that characterize healthcare today. The opportunity to be a part of a delivery team has opened my eyes and my heart to a path I knew I was meant to travel. My dream has always been to be a nurse, but the opportunity to be in the hospital witnessing and participating in the delivery process linked my academic goals with my personal passion to provide care to mother and baby. Healthcare is about more than just medicine, it is about truly connecting with the patient and being concerned for their emotional well-being. I gained a multitude of social skills and have become a well-rounded individual as a result of my community service programs.
