Dec 06,2016

HonorSociety.org strives to help its members gain leadership experience on campus in order to prepare them for their careers. Leadership is a prominent core within the society and is the sixth core value in the society's constitution. Most of the HonorSociety.org members across the United States are in leadership roles on campus or in organizations off campus. Chapters on campus give these students who excel on campus, an opportunity to be a leader of an organization from the very beginning.

Arooba Najaf, the founder and president of the Alpha Upsilon Chapter at DeVry University North Brunswick, demonstrated leadership skills prior to becoming a chapter founder and president as she was given a leadership award in the fall of 2016 by the National Society of Leadership and Success. As a senior who will be graduating in a few months, she decided to expand her leadership experience and decided to form a chapter at her university.

Arooba has been a member since March of 2016 and decided to join HonorSociety.org to become a better leader and to help the community. So far, the society has helped her become involved with the community in a professional manner and has helped her grow academically. We had the chance to interview Arooba on her experience as a chapter founder and president thus far. Below is what she had to say.

I want to have a positive impact on the community and around the world. My grandma had the same legacy and I want to carry it on to change the world through art and photography.

My favorite inspirational quote is "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed" by Michael Jordan.
