Against the Tide

When it feels as though the world is against you, then what would you do. I am Rodney Tyson Scheuffele. I am not only a member of the national honor's society, but I am featured in the National Dean's list 26th edition. My story begins at age 3 when I nearly drown in the pool in my backyard. At 4 years old I suffered physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse from my family until I was 7 years old and tried to kill myself. I ended up in my father's house where emotional and mental manipulation reigned for the next 10 years through my parents alcohol abuse. I had my first drink when I was 7 years old. My first cigarette when I was 12 years old. I joined the United States Marine Corps at 17 years old to escape my familial home. I was 18 when I defeated Saddam Hussain in Iraq. I returned home in 1996 to work 2 jobs in order to pay child support from an ended, faithless marriage. Not from my end. And I was literally spit on for my service to my country. I began my civilian career working 78 hours per week. In 1999, I moved to Bellingham Washington and obtained my Bachelor's degree while working full time, dating fulltime, parenting part time, and spending a great deal of hours in AA. I could not find "paid" work as a theatre director upon graduation, so I went back to work as a security guard. I moved in with my abusive birth mother in 2007 due to not having a choice. Within a couple of years I had assaulted her, and ended up in solitary confinement for 30 days. Best sleep I got in my life as no one could hurt me. I spent 14 months in a mental health court, and 11 years as a homeless person while I witnessed all of my family members kick me off of their property, because I was homeless and not worthy of coming into their homes out of the weather. I have witnessed war horrors, abuse from other's like my neighbor that thought that it would be a good idea to hit her grandchildren. My trip to Israel is in peril, my Jeep has been destroyed, I am being forced to move, I had to replace 1200 dollars worth of slashed tires, my job put me on "paid" administrative leave because I turned in a fellow employee for abusing clients with mental illness, I recently let go of my family, some friends, and some neighbors for their abusive attitudes, my school recently degraded my efforts for turning a paper in late because I was too busy fighting for my life in a hospital, so my reward was to half my grade. These past few incidents occurred in the last five weeks. I haven't slept correctly in the past five weeks due to my neighbors drug use inside her apartment which inundates my bedroom. I haven't had a date since 2007, because my ex girlfriend ran her mouth on the internet. The point is, what do you do when life stacks up against you? I am done turning the other cheek to this world. I am done being friendly among human beings. I am the most vengeful person that has been formed on this Earth through trials by fire. Adolph Hitler's life was a Sunday picnic compared to mine, and I am pissed off. However, I am getting my revenge on humanity by achieving success. What would you do with the world stacked against you?
