Honor Society® Expert FAQ
Do colleges look at senior-year grades?
Yes, colleges may review senior-year grades through midyear reports, updates, and final transcripts. An admission offer can remain conditional on completing the academic program and meeting stated expectations.
Treat admission as part of an ongoing academic record
Check each college’s required reports and ask your counselor about submission timing. A course change or significant academic difficulty may need to be reported under the college’s policy. Do not assume that an early application freezes the record admissions will consider.
If a serious circumstance affects your performance, seek help and communicate factual context through the appropriate channel. Explain what changed and what you are doing to address it, without treating an explanation as a guarantee that conditions will be waived. Keep graduation and scholarship renewal requirements in view as well.
Your next steps
- Confirm midyear and final transcript requirements.
- Ask before dropping or substantially changing a planned course.
- Address academic problems early and document relevant circumstances.
