Honor Society® Expert FAQ
What should you do after submitting a college application?
After applying, save your confirmation, activate the college’s applicant portal, and check that required materials arrive. Submission is the start of the college’s review process, not proof that every component is complete.
Confirm completeness and keep deadlines visible
Track recommendations, transcripts, test reports where required, portfolios, and financial-aid forms. Follow the college’s instructions for corrections and updates; avoid sending extra material that it does not accept. Keep checking the email address associated with the application.
Continue schoolwork and other applications while decisions are pending. Honor Society’s senior-year checklist helps coordinate these tasks without relying on memory. If you receive an interview invitation or a request for clarification, respond by the stated deadline and keep a copy of the exchange.
Your next steps
- Save the submitted application and receipt.
- Check the portal for missing items and action dates.
- Maintain grades and finish required aid applications.
