The art of Focus.

The art of focus is something that I am trying to learn. It is so hard to try and focus on one thing at a time when there are so many things to do and  little time to do it.Look at it, we all have the same time but we tend to want to do more in a day than it has time for. When I say the art of focus, it is really a big art because it is hard to give hundred percent focus. It is a skill that employers look for and people value. It is the art that only the great are familiar with. It is the art that only the best can master because it is rare and difficult to get.

It is a certain obsession with success that makes people want it so bad that they want it more than life itself. It is a certain quality that only a few know and understand. So imagine you woke up today and you told yourself you were going to write that 15 paged essay for Literature class since its due tomorrow morning. You take a shower and then eat some breakfast. The next thing now is to get your laptop out and start an outline for the paper. Your best friends calls you to say she has a party that she wants you to go to. You can’t say no because you don’t want your friends to say you are weird and you don’t want to be left out of the fun. You decide to go. You stay there till evening and remember that you have not written the paper. You ask your friend to take you home but she’s enjoying the paper and does not want to miss the fun, she tells you to wait for a few minutes. You then wait. You realize that she is not going to take you home till the party ends. You think to yourself “I should have stayed back.”

Let us look at it closer, can you actually finish a 15 paged paper in one day? Can you actually do well on a paper you procrastinated about till the last minute? Maybe.

This is my idea of focus. Focus can be defined as the ability to give an idea or project hundred percent attention crafting it into shape, being dedicated to it until there is no room for correction, being able to work on it until it is simply outstanding.

It is when you start your paper immediately the professor gives you the topic and it is due in two months and you work on it until it is simply magnificent. It sounds extreme but it is the way of the best. It is the way to be the best version of you. Focus is the ingredient that you need to do whatever you do well. There would be distractions along the way but those are no excuse for not being successful. It is giving something that you are passionate about your best.
